POLICE: Shelton Student Helps Catch Bomb Threat Author

Shelton police Tuesday arrested another student for a hoax bomb threat.

A vigilant” student at Shelton High School noticed another student allegedly leave a suspicious note — which mentioned a bomb threat — in a classroom, according to a press release issued by Lt. Robert Kozlowsky.

A teacher was immediately notified about the incident, the press release said.

The school administration and police were then notified. The 16-year-old student admitted that the note was a hoax, police said. The school was not evacuated.

The male student was arrested and charged with first-degree falsely reporting an incident and second-degree breach of peace.

The note was seized by police as evidence. The police department would not elaborate on the contents of the note, for investigate purposes.”

Police have made these threat investigations a high priority and have been diligently following up all leads, Kozlowsky said.

The threat is the latest in a string of threats at Valley schools, including the Shelton Intermediate School, and the middle and high schools in Seymour.

The 16-year-old student is the seventh student in the two towns to be charged for making false threats.
