Pollastro Named To Derby Board Of Aldermen

Sam Pollastro was named to the Board of Aldermen Thursday to fill the seat of James Allaire, who recently resigned.

The appointment was made after a four-minute Republican caucus in the middle of Thursday’s meeting.

Allaire resigned for personal reasons, Mayor Anthony Staffieri said.

He put the time in and I’m sorry to see him go,” said Ken Hughes, president of the Board of Aldermen.

Pollastro was not sworn in Thursday night. Staffieri asked him to stop by City Hall Friday morning.

Pollastro will represent the city’s First Ward.
