State prosecutors are trying to get in touch with victims of a Seymour home invasion to determine what type of plea deal the state might offer in the case.
The accused, 54-year-old Michael Allegretto, appeared briefly at Superior Court in Milford Wednesday before the case was continued to July 25.
Senior Assistant States Attorney Charles Stango requested more time to contact Allegretto’s neighbors, the victims in the case.
Police said in February, Allegretto entered his neighbor’s apartment in their shared multi-family home on Derby Avenue and held a woman captive at gunpoint.
Allegretto told police he believed the neighbors were trying to hurt him because he had smelled smoke for several days.
The female victim told police Allegretto brought her into the basement and threatened her.
She was able to get away and called 911.
Police arrived minutes later and found Allegretto outside the home.
He was charged with home invasion, first-degree kidnapping with a firearm , second-degree criminal mischief, two counts of second-degree threatening and two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment.
Allegretto is free on a $200,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear again in Superior Court in Milford on July 25.
