The Derby Board of Education will conduct three public hearings regarding the Strategic Plan that will guide efforts to improve public education in the city over the next five years.
The first hearing took place Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. at Irving School.
The Plan, which has been under development for the past several months, is expected to be adopted by the Board sometime in December.
A summary of the proposed plan, which has been drafted by a committee of teachers, students, administrators, parents and other concerned citizens, is posted below.

The hearing dates and locations are as follows:
Wednesday, November 9 (7 p.m): Irving School
Thursday, November 10 (7 p.m.): Bradley School
Monday, November 14 (7 p.m.): Derby Middle School
All interested citizens are invited to attend to voice their reactions to the plan and to offer their ideas for the improvement of our schools.
