A recount in the Third Ward Aldermen’s race has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 in Derby City Hall, City/Town Clerk Laura Wabno announced.
The recount is scheduled to take place in the Aldermanic Chambers on the building’s second floor.
Derby City Hall is at 1 Elizabeth St.
In the third ward, there were six candidates running for three open seats.
According to results submitted to the Secretary of State Wednesday, the top four candidates were:
Carmen DiCenso (Democrat): 839 votes
David Anroman (Democrat): 653 votes
Peter Olenoski, Jr. (Republican): 653 votes
Richard Dziekan (Republican): 651 votes
The results show the winners as DiCenso (an incumbent), Anroman and Olenoski.
But since the margin of defeat was so narrow for Dziekan — just two votes — a recount is mandatory.

Derby Democratic Registrar of Voters Louise Pitney said Friday that although every ballot submitted at the Bradley School polling place will be looked at, the recount is just for the Third Ward Aldermen’s race.
Derby also had a recount in 2011, in the Aldermen’s race for the Second Ward.
