Renovations Underway At Derby ShopRite On Pershing Drive

DERBY – The ShopRite supermarket at 49 Pershing Drive is undergoing a renovation, according to a press release issued Tuesday (April 15).

The updates will introduce a fresh contemporary store design, along with expanded departments and upgraded amenities,” according to the statement.

The renovations are underway and are scheduled to continue until the end of spring. The work is being done in the overnight hours to minimize disruption to shoppers.

The Derby ShopRite is owned by Cingari Family Markets, a 90-year-old company based in Connecticut.

With this renovation, we’re enhancing our offerings to better serve the Derby community – providing more varieties of fresh, high-quality foods and convenient meal solutions, and a modernized look and feel that makes shopping easier for the busy families that walk through our doors.”

The press release details the following changes being made in the Derby store:

  • Expanded grab-and-go meal options

  • Enhanced floral and produce departments

  • Upgraded specialty departments (bakery, seafood, deli and dairy departments)

  • Sustainability improvements (new fridge and freezer units, along with new lighting along the aisle shelving)

Cingari Family Markets have been renovating and modernizing its stores for several years.

Cingari Family Markets owns and operates 10 ShopRite locations in Connecticut as well as two Grade A Markets in Stamford.
