Report: Marshall Lane Manor In Derby To Close By The End Of June

photo:ethan fryThe owners of Marshall Lane Manor in Derby plan to close the facility by the end of June, The New Haven Register is reporting.

The closing means about 100 employees will lose their jobs. About 100 people who live in the facility are in the process of finding other places to live. Most have already moved out.

The nursing facility has been in Derby since 1973.

Owner Anthony Simonetti filed documents to close Marshall Lane Manor in February.

The facility simply wasn’t generating enough money to keep going, Simonetti told the Valley Indy at the time.

Families of residents who live in Marshall Lane Manor pleaded with state officials during a public hearing on the closure in March.

The public hearing was required under state law.

The Register reported that state officials OK’d the closure in late April.
