Report: Shelton Man Killed In Florida Motorcycle Crash

A 49-year-old Shelton man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Florida Thursday (March 7).

James Convertito was riding a motorcycle on U.S. 1 near the Interstate 95 interchange in St. Johns County when he hit a truck as it was backing into a private driveway, according to News 4 of Jacksonville, Fla.

The accident remains under police investigation, but the website reported charges are expected to be filed. 

The crash happened about 9 p.m.

Convertito was traveling with two other motorcycle riders. Leon Laquay, 51, of Seymour, was treated for minor injuries.

Convertito was apparently in Florida for Daytona Bike Week.
