REPORTER’S NOTEBOOK: Residents Get A Vote At Shelton Planning & Zoning

It was hot. It was crowded. And there were people pouring in the hallway outside room 303 at Shelton City Hall Tuesday night.

So 20 minutes into its meeting, the Planning and Zoning Commission let the members of the public take a rare vote.

Let’s have a show of hands,” said Chairman Anthony Pogoda. How many people want to go downstairs?”

Not everyone voted, but the majority of the 20 or so people there wanted to get out of that small office room.

There’s an elderly female in the hallway!” said resident Mark Widomski.

Only one person, perched behind the board table leaning on a file cabinet, raised his hand to object to the move.
