On Sunday, Aug. 17, the fifth annual 10K and 5K Sunset Run/1‑mile walk for the Warriors road race will take place in Shelton.
Approximately 500 people are expected to participate in the event.
Several streets in the Huntington section will be temporarily closed to accommodate the people involved in the event.
The race will begin at Huntington Street and continue onto Isinglass Road, Nichols Avenue and ending at Church Sreett. The 5K will cut across Blueberry Lane to Nichols Avenue.
At 4:15 pm the entire race route will be closed to all traffic except for emergency vehicles. The race route will remain closed, until the last runner has passed through a particular section or roadway of the route.
The entire roadway will be re-opening no later than 6:30 p.m. During the closing ceremonies, traffic around the Huntington Green will be reduced to one lane to allow safe traffic control and pedestrian crossing.
Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes during the time period of the race.
