ANSONIA — ‘Rock the Valley,’ a free music festival, is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 26 at Nolan Field from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
‘Rock the Valley’ will feature performances by ‘Dirty Deeds: The AC/DC Experience;’ ‘Earth,’ a Black Sabbath tribute band, and; ‘Obsession,’ the region’s premiere heavy metal band.
The event is being organized by the Ansonia Cultural Commission. In addition to bands, there will be plenty of food and family-friendly vendors. A fireworks show is scheduled as well.
The organizers published a call for vendors last month.
See the image below for details. Post continues after the image.
Also, the Ansonia Cultural Commission posted a warning on June 8 on Facebook telling people to keep an eye out for scams.
Here is the post in its entirety:
“It has been brought to our attention that some vendors are being contacted by individuals other than The Ansonia Cultural Commission requesting payment for a spot at our events.
1. The only way to obtain an application is through the City of Ansonia page or through a request to the AnsoniaCulturalCommission@gmail.com email address.
2. We DO NOT and HAVE NOT EVER requested payment through an email in the form of any electronic payment!
3. The only way to secure a spot at one of our events is by mailing in your application (or physically bringing it to the Ansonia City Hall) with a payment by either a check or money order.
Please do not be fooled by these degenerates!
The Ansonia Cultural Commission prides itself on giving small businesses the opportunity to be a part of fun, family events. If you have been victim to these scammers please do your part and report it to the admins of the group you were contacted from.
