ANSONIA — ‘Rock the Valley,’ an all-day music festival, is scheduled to return to Nolan Field off Wakelee Avenue on Saturday, Aug. 27 from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The event features live bands, vendors, food trucks, a kids zone and a petting zoo.
This year’s headliner is Professor Louie and The Crowmatix, featuring the Woodstock Horns.
Musician & songwriter ‘Professor Louie’ produced three studio albums in the 1990s for ‘The Band,’ a legendary group known for their songs “The Weight,” “Up on Cripple Creek,” and many more.
Louie produced The Band’s album ‘Jericho,’ which featured a powerful cover of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Atlantic City.’
Professer Louie and his cohorts will be performing songs by ‘The Band,’ according to an email from Rich DiCarlo, of the Ansonia Cultural Commission.
ADMISSION TO THE EVENT IS FREE, AND SO IS PARKING.
Nolan Field is at 350 Wakelee Ave. in Ansonia, a short hop from Route 8.
“ ‘Rock the Valley’ was established by Mayor Cassetti back in 2015,” DiCarlo said. “Since its inception, it remains as a gift to the people of Ansonia. The Ansonia Cultural Commission works several months to produce this quality, family-friendly event. We look forward to presenting the city and its people in the best light possible.”
The band lineup was created in partnership with NeuroTronix Records & Promotions of Seymour.
The MC is MC Daniel GreenWolf, the Celtic Magician!
