WFSB is reporting last night’s crash on Route 8 north involved a wrong-way driver.

State police are investigating a serious crash on Route 8 north that sent at least one person to Yale-New Haven Hospital Saturday night.
The crash happened about 9:30 p.m. near exit 17 and caused police to close the highway.
Firefighters used the jaws of life to cut one person from a vehicle.
Further details were not immediately available.
