A 3‑year-old girl was taken to the hospital after a crash on Route 8 north Thursday night.
It was one of three crashes that happened on the northbound lanes of the highway near exit 16 in Derby, according to accident summaries from state police Troop I.
The first crash was at 10 p.m.

The Honda swerved and bounced off a concrete barrier and into the Corolla.
The Corolla then smashed into the concrete barrier. The 3‑year-old girl was in a car seat in the Corolla. She was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital with “non-life threatening injuries,” police said.

The second crash happened at 10:20 p.m. in roughly the same area.
