Did you a receive a yellow plastic bag and a flyer on your door last week? Today is the day to pack the bag with food and leave it on your door.
If you miss the home pick-up, non-perishable food can be dropped off at four locations: Trinity Episcopal Church on Church Street in Seymour; The Huntington Fire Station on Church Street in Shelton; The Housatonic Council BSA Service Center on Derby Avenue in Derby; The Salvation Army on Lester Street in Ansonia.
The food can be dropped off at the service center in Derby Monday through Friday until Nov. 20.
Items needed include:
- canned meats
- canned fish
- canned vegetables
- canned potatoes
- canned fruits, soups, beef stew
- chili/bean products
- baby food and formula
- cereals
- peanut butter in plastic jars
- rice
