Love Mom XOXO Foundation

Love Mom XOXO Foundation, in partnership with the Town of Seymour, will be hosting its second annual build-a-backpack drive scavenger hunt at Ronald Randall Field (20 Pine St.) in Seymour from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10.

Entry is free, and children will be given school supplies during the event. Registration is required to participate in the scavenger hunt, and you can register here.

In advance of the event, Love Mom XOXO is collecting school supply donations for the scavenger hunt.

To donate, drop off school supplies — notebooks, pocket folders, composition notebooks, backpacks, lunchboxes, pencils, pens erasers, gluesticks, pencil boxes, Post-It notes, etc. — at Chatfield LoPresti or Seymour Middle School between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Sunday, July 28.

The build-a-backpack event will start at 4 p.m. on Aug. 10, and the scavenger hunt will last from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be an afterparty and awards, followed by a movie screening at dusk.

Prizes include a ride to school in a police car or a fire truck, as well as the opportunity to be the First Selectperson of Seymour for a day.

There is also free space for vendors at the event. For more details and to register as a vendor, click here.
