Service To Youth Awards Scheduled For April 20, 2023

SHELTON – The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley will be presenting Nicholas (posthumously) & Ernestine Luise with its Raymond P. Lavietes Service to Youth award, the Bassett Family Fund with its Champion of Youth Award, and Sharon Oates with its Alumni Hall of Fame Award on April 20. Each award is the highest honor in its category that the Club can present.

The Raymond P. Lavietes Service to Youth Award is given in honor of Valley philanthropist Raymond P. Lavietes, beloved Club friend and supporter. Ray helped make our Boys & Girls Club a frontrunner in the provision of services to youth through his dedication and commitment. This award honors an individual or individuals worthy of recognition due to their involvement in serving the youth of our community.

The Champion of Youth Award is presented to those worthy of recognition due to their involvement in serving the youth of our community for their outstanding leadership and untiring dedication to youth activities, distinguished record in volunteer service with an emphasis on youth, and their exceptional support of our Boys & Girls Club.

The Alumni Hall of Fame Award is presented to those worthy of recognition due to their notable accomplishments which serve as a role model for today’s youth, outstanding leadership and dedication to youth activities, and their distinguished record in volunteer service with an emphasis toward youth of our Boys & Girls Club.

The event will be held at the Stone Barn at Whitney Farms golf course in Monroe on April 20, from 5 – 7 pm.
