Seymour Babe Ruth Baseball is holding registration for its Spring Baseball Program. The program is open to all players ages 13 through 18 who live in Seymour.
The Players age is their age as of May 1 2013. Players aged 13 through 15 from surrounding towns may also register provided their town is not holding its own Babe Ruth Baseball Spring Program. Any player from the area aged 16 – 18 may register for Seymour.
Registration will be held on Friday, Jan. 18 and Friday, Jan. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Seymour Community Center (rear, lower level), Pine Street, Seymour.
The fee for the season is $155 and the deadline for registration is April 1. The Spring season for 13-year-olds is held from April through June.
The Spring season for 14- to 18-year-olds begins after the high school baseball season has concluded in June; however, practices will be held beginning in May for players not participating in a high school program.
Seymour Babe Ruth plans to have three teams: one 13-year-old, one 14 – 15 year-old and one 16 – 18-year-old team. The exact number of teams and age groups will be adjusted as the number of player registrations require.
Players receive playing time based upon their ability; however, all participants will receive a minimum amount of playing time in each game.
