The First Niagara Bank on First Street in Seymour was robbed just before 4 p.m. Friday.
The robbery was first reported about 3:54 p.m.
Police Chief Michael Metzler confirmed the robbery report at the scene about 4:30 p.m. but said no further information was available.
According to emergency radio transmissions, the robbery suspect was described as a white man around 5 feet tall with a mustache who was wearing glasses, a baseball hat, jeans and sneakers at the time of the heist.
The man passed a note to a teller but did not display a weapon during the robbery, according to emergency radio transmissions.

This is Seymour’s first bank robbery since April 9, 2013, when the Webster Bank at 15 New Haven Ave. was robbed at about 3:30 p.m.
That same Webster Bank was robbed in February 2013.
The Webster Bank is less than half a mile away from the bank robbed today.
