On Saturday Dec. 22, the Seymour Fire Department will hold a boot, school supply, gift card and toy drive to benefit the families of Newtown.
DO NOT BRING STUFFED ANIMALS. Newtown officials said there have been more than more than enough donations of stuffed animals.
It is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Tri-Town Plaza at 814 Derby Ave.
All funds will be donated to the Sandy Hook school support fund c/o Newtown Savings Bank.
All toys and stuffed animals will be donated to the Newtown school system for the classrooms.
Also, the Seymour FD will have a second boot drive location set up at Route 67 and Bank Street in downtown Seymour.
“This is our way as first responders, fathers, mothers, aunts, and uncles too try and give some kind of peace to our neighbors of Newtown,” firefighters said in a press release.
