The Seymour Founder’s Day Association is in full swing and making preparations for the 2011 Seymour Founder’s Day event scheduled for June 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a rain date of June 12.
Donations from corporate sponsors are being received from many Seymour and Oxford merchants. The beneficiary of this year’s event will be the Seymour/Oxford Food Bank. This local organization, during this hard economic climate, finds it difficult at times to meet the need of those who truly rely on its generosity to help feed their families.
The Founder’s Day Association would like to recognize the following merchants who have come forward to help sponsor the 2011 event so far:
Oxford Paint and Hardware – Platinum Sponsor / $2,500 donation.
Wachovia/Wells Fargo Bank – Gold Sponsor / $1,000 donation.
Daddio’s Auto Parts, Zois’ Pizza Palace – Silver Sponsor / $500 donation.
Naugatuck Savings and Loan, New Alliance Bank, Peak Fitness and Aldo’s Garage – Copper Sponsors / $250 donation.
Falbo’s Garage / $150 donation.
DeKarz Engineering, Thule and Miller-Ward Funeral Parlor/ $100 donation.
Simone’s- Dunkin Donuts, Derby Avenue/ $25 donation.
All Star Bus Company will donate the use of one bus during the day’s event to transport people to and from the industrial park where free parking will be available.
Any area business who would like to become a sponsor may contact Samuel Mirlis, association president, at 203 – 828-8129.
