SEYMOUR — Kids can visit Santa and families can shop for handmade crafts at two special holiday events hosted by the Seymour Historical Society on Saturday, Dec. 3, and Sunday, Dec. 4.
On Saturday, Dec. 3, Santa Claus will make his annual visit to the Katharine Matthies House in Seymour from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Kids can meet with him – and parents can take photos – at no charge.
On Sunday, Dec. 4, the Historical Society will host a Holly Day Fair featuring local artists and crafts vendors selling their works. Among the items available will be soaps, jams, lanterns, and jewelry. Additionally, each room of our museum will be beautifully decorated in a Christmas theme from years past. The fair will run from 1 to 5 p.m. There is no entry fee.
On Saturday, guests are asked to bring non-perishable food items for needy families. Those donating items will receive free raffle tickets for a drawing for a supermarket gift card. On Sunday, there will be a separate raffle for items donated by Holly Day Fair vendors.
The Seymour Historical Society is located at 59 West Street, near the Trinity Episcopal Church. Off-street parking is available at the church.
