Seymour Hosts Health Fair

Seymour First Selectman Paul F. Roy, Senior Center Director Lucy McConologue and the Seymour Aging Commission have announced plans for a Senior Health and Information Fair Wednesday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Seymour Community Center gym, 20 Pine Street. 

Informational booths will include Social Security, South Central Area on Aging, TEAM Inc., Ombudsman Program, State Aging Commission, local attorneys, home health care, financial planning, C:&P, Yankee Gas, the Police Department, veterans, Seymour Land Trust, Elder Abuse Response Team, nursing home representatives and reverse mortgage.

Health and wellness booths will include Girffin Hospital, GI Suite & Sleep Clinic, and presenters on breast cancer awareness, wild animal diseases, physicians, chiropractor, dentist, hearing impaired, hpne devices and yoga.

There will also be a free health screening by the Seymour Lions Club, with eye tests and hearing tests, plus parish nurse blood pressure screening and stroke assessment.

There will be free hand-outs, food and prizes The event is open to the public and it is handicapped accessible.
