Seymour Man, Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Minor, Due In Court In June

SEYMOURA Seymour man accused of sexually assaulting a minor and having sexual communications with another minor via the internet is due back in court in June.

Jesse Rallis, 42, was arrested last July after a Seymour police investigation found that Rallis had allegedly been sending inappropriate messages via the internet to a 13-year-old boy from North Carolina. That investigation also implicated Rallis in a sexual assault, and it uncovered multiple images of child pornography, according to Seymour Police Chief John Bucherati.

Rallis is charged with second-degree sexual assault, possession of child porn, enticing a minor by computer, and risk of injury to a child. He has pleaded not guilty on all counts.

At a scheduled court appearance on Tuesday (May 21), Rallis’ lawyer, public defender John Walkley, said that he had recently received a draft report of a doctor’s evaluation of Rallis. He said he would need more time to send the doctor more documents and asked for a new court date in June.

Rallis, at the time of his arrest, was already being held at Bridgeport Correctional Center on a probation violation. That probation was a result of three 2016 convictions relating to a separate child pornography case.

In that case, he pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography, risk of injury to a child, and enticing a minor by computer after detectives found that he had been communicating inappropriately via the internet with a teenager from Missouri.

As a result of those convictions, Rallis was forbidden from owning devices that allow internet communication.

Rallis is currently being held at Cheshire Correctional Institution.

Rallis’ next court date is scheduled for June 28.
