SEYMOUR — State police charged a 23-year-old Seymour man Thursday on a series of drug-related charges.
The man, Saldi Hyska, turned himself in to troopers in Southbury after learning there was a warrant for his arrest.
Hyska is charged with operating a drug factory, possession of a controlled substance greater than 1 kilogram with the intent to sell, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and keeping a prescription drug in an improper container.
According to a statement released from state police, authorities were investigating a residence at 226 Walnut St. where drugs were suspected of being sold.
“The target of the investigation was identified as Saldi Hyska,” police said.
The investigation gathered enough stream to get a search warrant for the residence, which was raided at 9 p.m. Sept. 7.
The raid allegedly uncovered nine pounds of marijuana, 1.6 grams of cocaine, a jar of THC oil, THC edible candies, 187 THC chocolate bars, about 252 THC vape cartridges, three Percocet pills, along with packaging materials and digital scales.
Police then obtained a warrant for Hyska’s arrest. The prepared statement did not elaborate on the delay between the execution of the search warrant and Hyska’s arrest, nor did it elaborate on the probable cause established to obtain the initial search warrant.
