SEYMOUR – A 51-year-old Seymour resident is scheduled to appear in court June 27 after being charged with driving under the influence.
Kevin Reilly is also charged with evading responsibility in connection to a motor vehicle crash, driving the wrong way on a highway, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
According to a summary from state police, Reilly drove drunk and in the wrong direction on Route 8 south near exit 23.
Police said they received several 911 calls reporting Reilly’s driving on Saturday, June 24 at 6:20 p.m.
Police said Reilly “had been involved in” three separate crashes before his vehicle “became disabled” in the highway’s median.
No injuries were reported.
The summary states troopers responding to the incident smelled alcohol on Reilly’s breath, that his eyes were bloodshot and watery, and that his speech was slurred.
Reilly took a field sobriety test but “did not perform to standard,” according to state police.
He is free on a $5,000 cash bond pending his court date later this month.
