Seymour Memorial Day Parade Scheduled For May 30 IS CANCELED

SEYMOUR — ‑The Seymour Remembers Memorial Day Parade will return in 2021 to downtown Seymour. The parade this year will be held on Sunday, May 30 starting at 11:00 am. – CANCELED BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER.

Last year’s parade, held in the form of a motorcade, went throughout the town of Seymour using a route that passed the homes of all of the remaining World War II veterans living
in the Town of Seymour.

This year’s 2021 parade, held in its traditional form, will include marching bands and drum corps, antique cars, community and social organizations, scouting and sports organizations, and dance studios. 

The Seymour fire, police, and ambulance will also participate. There will be a short ceremony prior to the parade at the reviewing stand located at the corner of Bank Street and Main Street.

The Grand Marshall for this years parade will be Angela McKirryher. She was honorably discharged after 8 years of service and attained the rank of Sgt. 

Seymour Memorial Day Parade 2012

She served with the U.S Army National Guard from 1996 thru 2004 and was a medic for the 118th Medical Battalion and had two activations for the State of Connecticut, including one on 9/11/2001.

The parade will step off at 11 am from French Memorial Park and proceed west on Rt. 67, turn left onto Main Street passing by the reviewing stand at the corner of Bank Street and Main Street and will continue on Main Street to the Broad Street Bridge. 

The parade will disband at the Seymour Community Center on Pine Street.
