Seymour Pink Donates $10,000

Seymour Pink, Inc. is pleased to announce our support of The Breast Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital with a donation of $10,000.

The donation will assist the Center in providing programs that affect breast cancer victims.

We, at the Breast Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven, are so appreciative of the very generous donation Seymour Pink has made,” said Dr. Anees Chagpar, director of the Yale Breast Center at Smilow Cancer Center Hospital.

We share the same mission — to provide the very best state-of-the-art care to breast cancer patients, to further research to help eradicate this disease, and to promote breast cancer education in all realms. We look forward to continuing a strong partnership with Seymour Pink in the future as we continue our joint work.”

The Center has recently been granted a three-year full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), an accrediting body administer by the American College of Surgeons.

The Center’s affiliation with Yale Cancer Center makes it the only National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center in the Northeast to also have the NAPBC accreditation.

This is a fight that we want our community to know that they do not walk alone in. As a non-profit organization, Seymour Pink, Inc. is dedicated to securing donations from our very generous residents and business owners to ensure that our mission of a community’s fight against breast cancer is achieved,” said Mary Deming, founder and president of Seymour Pink.

This donation is just one aspect of the many ways we reach out to the community to make sure that we are providing the best resource for those in need,” she said.

In less than two years, Seymour Pink has raised more than $100,000 which has been distributed both directly to breast cancer victims and indirectly in other areas such as The Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
