Seymour Pink Pushes For Breast Cancer Awareness License Plate

SEYMOUR — Drivers in Connecticut could soon have an easy opportunity to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. Seymour Pink, a nonprofit dedicated to uniting a community in the fight against breast cancer, drafted a design for the new plate.

Connecticut is ranked the state with the third highest rate of new breast cancer diagnoses, yet is one of a handful of states that does not have an awareness plate,” said Mary Deming, president of Seymour Pink.

Before production begins on the new background, Seymour Pink needs to collect 400 completed and paid applications for the plates and present them to the State DMV.

Those who wish to apply for the license plate should go to www.ctbreastcancerplate.com to download the form. Unlike many speciality plates, the Breast Cancer Awareness plate will not be a fundraiser.

We just want to promote awareness,” said Deming.

Seymour Pink is a non profit that supports and empowers breast cancer patients and their families. We service current patients in 39 towns in Connecticut. We are an all volunteer active grass roots organization with events including a 5K run/walk on Saturday October 5th, 2019, a golf tournament, an annual pasta dinner, and the day that started it all, a day in October we proclaim as Seymour Pink” Day where we SEE MORE PINK” to raise awareness about this life altering disease.

These amazing events are not only successful in raising funds to FIGHT breast cancer, but in bringing a community together in the FIGHT.
