Seymour Police Blotter Dec. 8 To Dec. 16

SEYMOUR Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from Dec. 8 — Dec. 16, 2024. It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy.

Seymour police received 192 calls for service and made four arrests between Dec. 8 and Dec. 16, 2024.

DEC. 8, 2024

4:30 a.m. Police charged a 22-year old Bridgeport man with engaging police in pursuit, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, and operating a vehicle without a license.

DEC. 9, 2024

2:17 p.m. Police received a walk-in complaint of identity theft from a resident who said someone opened a credit card in her name.

3:12 p.m. Police responded to a complaint of threatening from a Seymour Town Hall employee, who said a resident called the tax office, cursing and upset about his late taxes. Police said the resident made comments that made an employee uncomfortable, including saying he would send the tax office a sympathy card.” Police found there was insufficient evidence for any criminal charges. 

DEC. 10, 2024

10:12 a.m. Police received a complaint of suspicious activity about a white male wearing an army jacket living in the woods across from the church on Washington Avenue. Police confronted the man, who said he is trying to set up housing through a local agency, but process was taking longer than usual. Man agreed to relocate.

5:35 p.m. Police responded to a head-on motor vehicle crash with injuries reported at Fountain Lake Road/Great Hill Road.

7:10 p.m. Police received a report of a missing 11-year old, who’d been missing for a half hour, and was located at her uncle’s house.

DEC. 11, 2024

1:40 p.m. Police charged a 28-year old Seymour man with an extradition arrest/no warrant out of Westchester, NY. Police also charged the man with third-degree criminal mischief.

2:12 p.m. Police processed an application for a pistol permit.

6:20 p.m. Police took a call from a resident who reported a large drone flying over her house on Skokorat Street in November. The resident told police she wanted it on the record now, due to recent reports of similar drone activity in Connecticut and other states.

10:49 p.m. Police were sent to South Main Street for an ongoing complaint from a resident about a peeping Tom.

DEC. 12, 2024

1:42 a.m. Police charged a 23-year old Seymour woman with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief. Police responded to a report of a verbal dispute between a mother and daughter. After investigating, police determined the daughter broke the glass on the front of her mother’s house.

9:25 a.m. Police received a complaint from a resident about a neighbor blowing leaves into her yard on Jupiter Drive. 

DEC. 13, 2024

4:37 a.m. Police responded to a complaint on New Haven Road by an Uber driver who said the passengers were acting rude and would not exit the vehicle.

5:51 a.m. Police were sent to Roosevelt Drive for a report of construction vehicles being too loud.” Construction company employee told police the vehicles are not excessively loud and they are starting up vehicles to warm them up.

DEC. 14, 2024

3:35 p.m. Police responded to a report of an iPhone found in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Franklin Street. Owner was found and reunited with his phone.

6:25 p.m. Police went to Swan Avenue for a report from a resident who said multiple packages were stolen from his porch.

6:55 p.m. Police received a call for suspicious activity on Elaine Drive. A resident reported a male dressed in a gray hoodie and black sweatpants knocked on her door and ran through her yard.

DEC. 15, 2024

1:58 a.m. Police received a request for assistance from Ansonia Police for a large altercation at The Spot bar on East Main Street, Ansonia.

2:48 a.m. Police were sent to Jupiter Drive for a report of loud music in the area of Jupiter Drive/Evening Star Drive.

7:09 a.m. Police took a walk-in complaint from a resident who requested a ride home following a verbal dispute with his spouse, who he said threw all his things on the lawn and locked him out of the house. 

DEC. 16, 2024

8:01 a.m. Police responded to a rollover motor vehicle crash on Holbrook Road.

8:10 a.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle crash at Holbrook Road/Cemetery Road.
