SEYMOUR Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from June 16, 2025 through June 22, 2025.

It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.

Seymour police received 295 calls for service and made three arrests between June 16, 2025 and June 22, 2025.

JUNE 16, 2025

12:08 p.m. Police conducted radar for about 25 minutes on Bank Street and made one motor vehicle stop.

11:52 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Maple Street.

JUNE 17, 2025

12:27 a.m. Police charged a 35-year-old Oakville woman with evading responsibility, injury/property damage, illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and failure to drive right.

12:41 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident on Wakeley Street near the Route 8 off ramp. No injuries were reported.

11:20 p.m. A complaint was received about a suspicious vehicle parked in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Franklin Street. Police said an Uber driver was parked there and was taking a nap, and there were no further issues.

2:06 p.m. Police were called about a large pothole in the area of 100 Bank St., near the former Seymour Board of Education building. A construction foreman told police the pothole was caused by a trench dug by the gas company and notified the state DOT about getting materials to fill the pothole.

JUNE 18, 2025

1:21 a.m. An employee of a gas station on New Haven Road (Route 67) told police that someone was passed out behind the wheel of his car in one of the pump lanes. Police said an Uber was called to pick up the driver.

1:55 p.m. A Falbo Drive resident told police she heard kids screaming and adults yelling in the area. Police said there were no issues, and the kids were playing in the pool.

2:19 p.m. A caller told police a bicyclist hit his car when her brakes failed. Police called an ambulance for the bicyclist who had a bump on her head and complained of dizziness.

10:33 p.m. A Bunting Road resident reported that a man wearing a backpack was walking through his backyard and fled the area in a silver sedan at a high rate of speed. Police canvassed the area but were unable to locate the sedan.

JUNE 19, 2025

9:53 a.m. Police received a walk-in complaint of possible credit card fraud.

10:11 a.m. Police assisted the animal control officer in helping catch a baby turkey on Skokorat Street.

12:53 p.m. Police were called about an abandoned chihuahua-terrier mix dog in the area of Pulver Place.

2:38 p.m. A caller reported that a black Cadillac was travelling excessively slow on Route 67 before turning south on River Street. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

5:12 p.m. A Jacko Drive resident told police several dirt bikes were driving near his property and were very loud. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the dirt bikes.

6:19 p.m. A caller told police she was concerned about a six-year old who was attending a t‑ball game alone at Chatfield-LoPresti School on Skokorat Street. Police said the child returned home without incident.

JUNE 20, 2025

1:48 p.m. A caller told police the wind blew her umbrella up into the power lines near Main and Bank streets. Police said there were no further issues.

1:58 p.m. A North Street resident told police Fed Ex delivered a new cell phone to her house, but the package was stolen a few minutes later. The resident told police she had Ring video footage of the incident. 

3:14 p.m. A Glen Circle resident reported to police that her ex-boyfriend stole her car.

3:27 p.m. A resident reported that someone struck a deer on Holbrook Road. Police removed the dead deer from the road. 

5:03 p.m. A Chamberlain Road resident told police someone smashed the taillight on her vehicle.

JUNE 21, 2025

4:35 a.m. Multiple callers from Pearl and Walnut streets reported that a horn or alarm was going off for more than 15 minutes in the area. Police located the car in the parking lot at the Norman Ray House on Walnut Street and were able to resolve the issue.

10:49 a.m. A caller told police two dog owners were arguing at the dog park at Sochrin’s Park. Police provided the owners with advice on how to handle aggressive dog behavior.

1:52 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Rimmon Street. Police said a man backed into a mail truck, and the mail carrier was transported to the hospital for having a piece of glass stuck in his eye.

5:06 p.m. Police conducted radar on Mountain Road for about 25 minutes and made one motor vehicle stop.

JUNE 22, 2025

12:30 a.m. Police charged a 48-year-old Fairfield man with traveling unreasonably fast and illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

9:47 a.m. A caller reported a 16-inch-wide hole in the roadway near Evening Star and Jupiter drives. Police placed traffic cones around the hole until it could be fixed.

11 a.m. Police charged a 45-year-old Seymour man with disorderly conduct and violation of a protective order.

2:51 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Great Hill Road.

3:03 p.m. A caller told police a young man was standing on a retaining wall on Bank Street, and someone was filming him. Police said the individuals were gone upon their arrival.
