
SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from June 9, 2025 through June 15, 2025.
It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.
Note: generally, this publication does not post the names of people charged with misdemeanors; the names of victims; or numbered residential addresses. If we publish a suspect’s name, we track the case.
Seymour police received 328 calls for service and made nine arrests between June 9, 2025 and June 15, 2025.
JUNE 9, 2025
3:08 a.m. A Colony Road resident reported that her granddaughter’s boyfriend would not leave the residence and was being “rude and spitting on guests.”
7:54 a.m. A town employee reported that an unoccupied beverage delivery truck was parked at Seymour Town Hall for several days. Police called the truck company and left a voicemail about removing the truck.
10:39 a.m. A Roosevelt Drive resident told police there was a deceased dog in the water on Roosevelt Drive.
3:14 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident on New Haven Road. No injuries were reported.
10:01 p.m. Police charged a 55-year-old Fairfield man with second-degree breach of peace and dissemination of an intimate image to more than one person.
JUNE 10, 2025
11:03 a.m. A North Street business owner told police she received a $100 counterfeit bill.
1:13 p.m. A Silvermine Road resident told police someone hit and struck his trash can and mailbox, causing damage.
2:27 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on New Haven Road.
4:17 p.m. Police received a walk-in complaint from someone who said his vehicle was struck in the Stop & Shop parking lot while he was in the store shopping
5:52 p.m. Police charged a 52-year-old Ansonia man with second-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, first-degree criminal trespass, interfering and resisting an officer and violation of a protective order.
9:00 p.m. Police charged the same Ansonia man with first-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, first-degree criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, violation of a protective order and second-degree threatening
JUNE 11, 2025
12:31 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a one-car motor vehicle accident on Holbrook Road, where the car was found 50 feet into the woods, flipped onto its roof.
2:53 p.m. A member of Seymour Ambulance Association told police a child was riding his bike through their parking lot on DeForest Street and refused to get out of the way of the ambulance.
6:13 p.m. A Bungay Terrace resident told police a young male was walking around a vacant home on Bungay Terrace. Police said the residence was secured and they were unable the man.
7:27 p.m. A Jacko Drive resident lodged a complaint about his neighbor riding a dirt bike in the area and said it was very loud.
JUNE 12, 2025
4:53 a.m. A caller told police two men in a U‑Haul truck were in the parking lot of an auto body shop on South Main Street, and were looking inside cars in the lot. Police said there was no U‑Haul truck or people in the lot upon their arrival.
11:44 a.m. A Sagamore Drive resident reported a case of identify theft.
5:01 p.m. A Grand Street resident told police a dog jumped all over her car while she was parked on Grand Street, causing damage. Police said a juvenile retrieved the dog. Damage to the car was superficial and minor, police said. Both parties agreed to handle the matter civilly.
11 p.m. Police charged a 38-year-old man with second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening.
JUNE 13, 2025
7:43 a.m. Police received a report of a dog biting another dog on Tracy Terrace.
4:47 p.m. A caller told police an older man with gray hair, wearing a white hat and a dark shirt, appeared to be intoxicated or possibly in need of medical help, was walking along New Haven Road near Roberts Street. Police said the man was gone upon their arrival.
11:45 p.m. Police charged a 32-year-old Shelton woman with second-degree failure to appear.
JUNE 14, 2025
8:09 a.m. Police conducted radar on Great Hill Road and issued one infraction.
10:31 a.m. A Poplar Drive resident told police someone stole his weather station that was in his backyard. Police said the weather station was located in the bushes below the deck and there was no larceny.
1:25 p.m. Ansonia Police requested backup for a domestic incident.
4:00 p.m. A Roosevelt Drive resident told police that her two dogs were attacked by a raccoon. The dogs killed the raccoon and sustained some injuries. The owner didn’t know if the raccoon was rabid and took the dogs to the vet.
6:18 p.m. An anonymous caller told police someone was shooting off fireworks on Chestnut Court. Police checked the area and said no fireworks were being shot off in the area.
JUNE 15, 2025
6:05 a.m. Police charged a 27-year-old Woodbridge man with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, failure to drive in the proper lane and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
1:32 p.m. An employee of Sikorsky Credit Union on West Street told police it looked like the front door of the building had been kicked in. Police said there appeared to be no damage to the door, but the magnetic lock may have been unaligned.
6:24 p.m. Police conducted stop sign enforcement at Bungay and Canfield roads.
8:43 p.m. A caller reported that someone in a white pick-up truck was driving around the field at Seymour High School, causing damage. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival and reported that there was no damage to the field.
9:01 p.m. Police did a safety check at Gary Park.
