SEYMOUR Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from May 19, 2025 through May 25, 2025.

It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.

Note: generally, this publication does not post the names of people charged with misdemeanors, the names of victims, or numbered residential addresses. If we publish a suspect’s name, we try to track the case.

Seymour police received 286 calls for service and made four arrests between May 19, 2025 and May 25, 2025.

Monday, May 19, 2025

12:19 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Pearl Street, issuing a verbal warning to the driver.

7:07 a.m. Three officers were sent to Derby Avenue after an alarm went off.

11:12 a.m. Police arrested a 57-year-old Ansonia man and charged him with making physical threats, second-degree breach of peace, and third-degree criminal mischief.

3:39 p.m. An officer was called for a welfare check on Highland Street.

6:29 p.m. Police were called after two dogs got into a fight on Kathy Drive. Police issued an infraction to one of the owners for allowing a dog to roam. Police noted that Woodbridge Animal Control had had two prior incidents with that owner’s dog.

Tuesday, May 20, 2025

5:00 a.m. Police were helping to control traffic on Bungay Road.

6:25 a.m. A caller reported an assault on Main Street. Three officers responded and determined that it was a verbal argument. 

4:37 p.m. Police were called to the community center on Pine Street for an incident involving youths.

Wednesday, May 21, 2025

4:58 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Bungay Road, issuing a verbal warning.

9:34 p.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident near Botsford Road and Great Hill Road.

Thursday, May 22, 2025

2:00 a.m. Police were called after an Audi A6 ran off the road near Bank Street and West Street, catching fire. There was one person inside the car, who was transported to Waterbury Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The single-vehicle crash remains under investigation, police said.

4:32 p.m. Following a verbal dispute in a home, police arrested a 20-year-old woman on Mountain Road and charged her with disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief.

10:30 p.m. Police arrested a 26-year-old Trumbull woman on Bank Street and charged her with driving under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane.

Friday, May 23, 2025

5:03 p.m. Police spoke with two kids who were riding bikes around the Klarides Village parking lot.

6:48 p.m. A caller on Seymour Avenue reported that he thought someone had left a cigarette burn on his car’s passenger seat, and police wrote a report.

7:30 p.m. Police arrested a 40-year-old woman on Third Avenue and charged her with third-degree burglary, violating a restraining order, second-degree criminal mischief, and first-degree trespassing.

Saturday, May 24, 2025

1:59 p.m. Police were called to conduct a welfare check on S. Main Street.

2:09 p.m. A caller reported hazardous road conditions on Silvermine Road and New Haven Road.

7:02 p.m. Police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Moss Avenue.

10:34 p.m. A caller on Chatfield Street made a noise complaint.

11:42 p.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Chamberlin Road.

Sunday, May 25, 2025

9:45 a.m. An officer issued a written warning to a driver following a traffic stop on Bank Street.

3:48 p.m. Police were helping control traffic on Bungay Road and Carriage Drive.

4:13 p.m. An officer responded to a motor vehicle crash on Holbrook Road.
