Seymour Police Department Calls For Service

SEYMOUR Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from June 23, 2025 through June 29, 2025.

It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community. There were 263 calls for service in total.

Note: generally, this publication does not post the names of people charged with misdemeanors, the names of victims, or numbered residential addresses. If we publish a suspect’s name, we try to track the case.

June 23, 2025
04:41 a.m. — Police were notified of a rollover on Route 8 south near exit 18.
06:06 a.m. — An officer issued an infraction to the driver of a vehicle on Bank Street.
11:15 a.m. — Police responded to Franklin Street where a dog was reportedly left in a car. The car was gone upon the arrival of police.
12:35 p.m. — Police set up radar enforcement on Maple Street/Walnut Street and issued an infraction to a driver.
01:55 p.m. — Animal control was sent to Field Street for a report of a roaming pit bull.“
03:19 p.m. — An erratic driver was reported on North Street. The vehicle was gone upon arrival.
04:17 p.m. — A medical emergency was reported on Frances Drive.
05:35 p.m. — Animal control was sent to Country Club Road where a caller reported a baby deer stuck in a fence.
06:04 p.m. — A woman reported that her ex-husband was harassing her.
07:30 p.m. — A resident reported mailing a card to a friend’s house. When the card arrived, the money inside was missing.

June 24, 2025
04:02 a.m. — A caller from a business on Silvermine Road reported that the garage bay door had been open for an unknown length of time.
05:41 a.m. — Police conducted stop sign enforcement on Pearl and Pond streets.
10:31 a.m. — A caller reported that someone was taking her recycling bottles from a downtown business. The business owner reported giving the items to another person because the caller had waited too long to collect.
11:53 a.m. — Two family members were arguing at a residence on Knorr Avenue. Police gave the family 211 information as a resource to help.

June 25, 2025
07:41 a.m. — A women called police to report her husband was not feeling well. The call was transferred to EMS personnel.
01:21 a.m. — A person from Derby Avenue reported being bit by a spider. EMS was sent to help.
11:00 a.m. — A toddler was reported alone on Deer Run Drive. The caller was mistaken, as a parent was nearby.
04:57 p.m. — A caller said a white male wearing a blue T‑shirt was trying to get into her house on Big Dipper Drive. Police responded and determined the man was selling solar panels. He was taken to his vehicle and his company was told to get a permit to solicit in town.
05:16 p.m. — A caller from Pine Street said someone crashed into a parked car and took off.

June 26, 2025
06:36 a.m. — A caller from Forest Road Ext said his brother punched him.
11:49 a.m. — Police set up speed enforcement on Roosevelt Drive for 20 minutes and issued no speeding tickets.
12:16 p.m. — Police set up speed enforcement for about 20 minutes on Great Hill Road and reported all passing vehicles were within the speed limit.
01:41 p.m. — Police helped a senior citizen who locked her keys in a car with the engine running on Summer Hill Road.
02:32 p.m. — Police received a report that a woman was yelling on West Street and may have been beaten up. The woman told the responding officer that she had fallen the night before in Shelton, spent the night at Griffin Hospital, and then was dropped off on West Street where she slept in a hallway outside apartments. Police offered her a ride to the hospital or train station, but she declined. She said she had no one to call. Additional information was not available.

June 27, 2025
11:50 a.m. — Police issued a speeding ticket to a motorist on Maple Street.
12:47 p.m. — A caller told police a tree fell on his car while at Seybridge Plaza on New Haven Road.
03:33 p.m. — A caller said three kids were playing on the waterfall at the fish bypass on Deforest Street. Police responded and said there was no issue.
06:58 p.m. — A caller from Great Hill Road reported that someone drove into her mailbox and took off.
07:25 p.m. — Police set up speed enforcement on Bungay Road and issued no tickets.
08:16 p.m. — Police responded to a domestic incident reported on High Street.

June 28, 2025
12:17 a.m. — A caller from Walnut Street reported that a car alarm was constantly going off.
09:07 a.m. — A caller on New Haven Road reported a tractor-trailer was blocking the road near Silvermine.
09:38 a.m. — Police received a 911 hangup call from Colony Road. It was a child playing with a phone.
11:09 a.m. — Police set up a speed enforcement detail on Great Hill Road and reported no cars were speeding in the roughly 25 minutes spent at the location.
06:24 p.m. — A caller reported juveniles ringing door bells and then running away.

June 29, 2025
04:02 a.m. — A DWI accident was reported on Maple Street, where a car crashed into a utility pole.
03:32 p.m. — Police received a 911 hangup call from a motorist in the Dunkin’ Donuts drive thru. The caller said it was a mistake as he was trying to turn down his car radio.
07:51 p.m. — A caller reported an erratic motorist on Maple Street.
