The Seymour Police Department in conjunction with the Seymour Stop and Shop Supermarket will be hosting the fifth annual “Valley Toys for Tots” toy drive at the Seymour Stop and Shop located at 15 Franklin Street in Seymour on Dec. 11.
Also, co-sponsoring this worthwhile charity event will be Clear Channel Radio (KC101.3 WKCI-FM, 960 WELI-AM, ESPN Radio 1300-WAVZ-AM) from Hamden„ Griffin Hospital located in Derby, and Mario D’Addario Buick Nissan dealership from Shelton.
The toy drive will be held on Saturday December 11, 2010 at 9:00 A.M. and will continue until 3:00 P.M. in front of Stop and Shop. Members of the community are asked to donate an unwrapped new toy. All toys collected will be donated to TEAM Inc. located in Derby, which will then distribute the toys to local families who are in financial need of assistance.
The event will also include free face painting, a wellness bus hosted by Griffin Hospital and free blood pressure screenings. There also will be several Seymour Police Department vehicles on display. And there will be a special guest appearance by Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.
The community is asked to please participate in this event and donate a toy to help brighten a child’s holiday.
