The the first annual Seymour Red Day, planned in collaboration with the American Diabetes Association, is scheduled for Nov. 9.
Multiple events are planned in town to help promote Diabetes awareness and to help raise funds for research, education and advocacy efforts. Click here for a link to the event’s Facebook page.
The event will begin with a proclamation at Town Hall by First Selectman Kurt Miller at 4 p.m., followed by a Seymour Red Day Walk from Town Hall to Hot Tamale immediately afterward.
Contribution to participate in the Walk is $20/person or $50/family and includes T‑shirts (for first 100 walkers), a water bottle and post-walk reception at Hot Tamale with hors d’oeuvres provided compliments of Hot Tamale.
A Big 80s Halloween Bash will be held at Hot Tamale that evening. Proceeds from raffles (gift cards, 50/50, etc.) and donations at the party to benefit Seymour Red Day and the American Diabetes Association. Prizes also awarded for best costumes!
Kids are welcome for the proclamation, walk and reception at Hot Tamale. Unfortunately, they cannot participate in the ’80s party fun later in the evening.
A huge thank you to our two sponsors for Seymour Red Day: Flik’s Tree Service, Lawn Care, and Fencing and Christiani Paintworks. Their support is greatly appreciated.
We hope you can join us for this special day!
