SEYMOUR — Hot Tamale Mexican Grill & Bar is scheduled to close this weekend as owners make repairs following an electrical fire reported Thursday.
Seymour first responders were sent to the Route 67 restaurant at about 6:15 p.m. after receiving a report of a fire. The fire was quickly extinguished, according to emergency radio transmissions.
The fire was within a wall. The damage is mostly from smoke.
In a Facebook post, Hot Tamale thanked the fire and police departments for their efforts, and said they hope to open again on Monday (Sept. 14).
“We had an electrical panel fire this evening,” the Thursday post read. “Everyone is OK. Thank you to all who have reached out and thank you Seymour Fire and PD! We will (be) closed for the weekend for clean up and hopefully ready to go Monday!! Thanks to everyone reaching out.”
