Seymour Schools To Seek Public Input

The Seymour Board of Education will hold a focus group for all parents and community members on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. at Seymour Middle School, 211 Mountain Road.

The purpose of the meeting is to solicit input from the public about the education budget. Opinions are invited on subjects including staffing issues, program issues and addition materials and equipment.

The input will be considered as the board develops and plans the 2012 – 2013 education budget request.

The Board of Education will also hold budget workshops during the second week of January, 2012. The meetings will be open to the public. There will be in-depth discussion about the rationale for the superintendent’s recommendations.

The Board of Education will then deliberate on the superintendent’s recommended budget and may either accept or amend the recommendations.

The Board of Education must submit a budget request to the town by February 1, 2012.

This message was distributed via an e‑mail to the community by the school superintendent.
