Seymour Teen Drives SUV Into Her Living Room

A 17-year-old girl escaped injury Tuesday after accidentally driving her SUV through her family’s Maple Street home.

Deputy Fire Marshal Timm Willis said the vehicle went six feet into the living room at 126 Maple St.

The accident occurred when she was parking her car in the driveway after arriving home from a morning errand.

I don’t know if she put her foot on the gas and thought it was the brake,” Willis said.

The house sustained major damage, but the teen was not hurt.

She had a minor cut on her finger,” Willis said.

The accident happened at 8:12 a.m. Emergency crews were on the scene for about an hour.

Contractors were at the house Tuesday afternoon making repairs.

No tickets were issued.
