Shelton Aldermen Honor Guy Beardsley, Market Master

Guy Beardsley, the longtime ​“market master” of the Shelton Farmers Market on Canal Street, is stepping down after more than 20 years in the role.

The city’s Aldermen honored Beardsley at their monthly meeting May 14, at which Board of Aldermen President John Anglace read the following proclamation:

Whereas Guy Beardsley established the Shelton Farmers Market Association in July 1993 and was responsible for the management and organization of all aspects of the Shelton Farmers Market;

and as market master for over 20 years, Guy provided the opportunity for local farmers to sell their products within the city of Shelton;

and whereas Guy has decided to step down from his position as market master, he has earned the respect within the community for his faithful service to the city, the city commends him for his continued support and valuable contributions while representing the city;

now therefore I John Anglace, representing the honorable Mark A. Lauretti and the Board of Aldermen of the City of Shelton, do hereby recognize and extend to GB a thank you for his loyal and dedicated service to the city over the years, I extend best wishes to him for continued good health and success in his future endeavors.
