Shelton Boy Succumbs To Leukemia

Donations are still being accepted to help a family whose 9‑year-old son died from leukemia over the weekend.

Isaias Valentin died Saturday, shortly after hundreds turned out at a community-wide tag sale to benefit the young boy.

The single-day event, organized by Isaias’ teacher, Kate Nappe Miller, and members of the Echo Hose Ambulance Corps, raised $11,000.

Those who knew him described the little boy as gentle and caring.

He is the type of kid, the minute people meet him, he loves you back,” Miller said at the tag sale.

Isaias was diagnosed with leukemia in October 2008.

He attended Lafayette School. His obituary information can be found here.

Contributions may be made to the Isaias Valentin Fund c/o Webster Bank, 502 Howe Ave. Shelton, CT 06484.
