Shelton Club Honors Youths

The Shelton Exchange Club has awarded ‘Youth of the Month’ awards to Shelton High School students over the past three months.

The award recognizes hard-working high school students who attain high levels of scholastic achievement, community involvement and leadership.

Each recipient is given a monetary award from the Shelton Exchange Club and is allowed to enter district competition, and ultimately, an opportunity to vie for the prestigious National Youth of the Year Award.

Shelton High School seniors Kristin Grabarz, Joseph Stein, and Priyal Bhargava have all received the award this year and are eligible to compete in the district competition.

All three students have excelled in and out of the classroom.

Kristin Grabarz is a member of the National Honor Society, Junior State of America, Shelton High Soccer team, and has volunteered for numerous causes.

Joseph Stein is a member of the National Honor Society, captain of the soccer, swimming and diving, and track and field teams, and has volunteered for many different programs.

Priyal Bhargava serves as captain of the Shelton High tennis team and plans to attend the University of Connecticut in the fall, majoring in neurobiology.

The Exchange Club is a group of people working together to make our communities better places to live through programs of service in Americanism, community service, youth activities, and its national project, the prevention of child abuse.
