Shelton Dinner Club Versus . . .

Editor’s Note: Welcome to the first edition of the Shelton Dinner Club, a rather mysterious group of foodies who’ve agreed to share their once-a-week reviews with the Valley Independent Sentinel.
Why mysterious? Well, I still don’t know how one becomes a member.

Have you ever been to Philadelphia? I haven’t. But why should I, since I’ve been to Ansonia!

One taste of Di Giovanni’s Apizza & Restaurant’s cheese steak will have you renaming Philly’s famous meat grinder!

This grinder was the highlight of the menu. However, the place also has the best mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers you’ll find on either side of the Housatonic.

Of course, you can’t forget about the Apizza. Di Giovanni’s has created 19 creative pies such as the Maui Wowie — a Hawaiian pizza with bacon (a Shelton Dinner Club favorite).

You want onion on that too? All specialty pies are completely customizable. It’s a lot like Burger King, you can have it your way!

The restaurant isn’t much to look at, but luckily they also have delivery. So where ever you choose to eat, the food they make can not be beat!

Out of 15 Dinner Club members, 26 thumbs up were awarded to:
