Shelton police set up a sobriety checkpoint on Friday (Sept. 2) and came away with two arrests.
Robert Conte, 21, of Derby, was charged with driving under the influence.
Daniel Belber, 25, of Derby, was charged with driving under the influence, driving the wrong way on a one-way street and driving an unregistered vehicle. He also allegedly had a warrant for his arrest for not responding to an infractions.
Both Belber and Conte are due in Superior Court in Derby on Sept. 16.
Police did not detail the location of the checkpoints, but had previously announced they would be on Bridgeport Avenue, River Road and downtown.
Police also issued a ticket to 19-year-old Joshua Hovan of Shelton for possession of alcohol by a minor and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. and
Steven Ayers, 34, of Shelton, also received a ticket for driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
