Shelton Fire Marshal James Tortora submitted the following summary of the Shelton Volunteer Fire Department’s calls from last week.
On 12/05/16 at 10:25 am the Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a a fire in a mulch pile at the Shelton Transfer Station #866 River Road. One engine and one ladder truck responded.
On 12/05/16 at 12:55 pm the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #19 Woodsend Drive for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. One engine responded.
On 12/06/16 at 7:00 am the Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a a fire in a mulch pile at the Shelton Transfer Station #866 River Road. One engine and one ladder truck responded.
On 12/08/16 at 4:38 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1, Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to smoke in the home at #16 Crows Nest Hill Road. Firefighters arrived and found the smoke was caused when a plastic utensil melted on a dishwasher heating element. Two engines and one ladder truck responded.
On 12/08/16 at 5:14 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Meadow Street near Wheeler Street. One rescue truck responded.
On 12/09/16 at 9:26 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on route 8 south bound in the area of exit 13. One engine and one rescue truck responded.
On 12/10/16 at 11:47 am the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a residential fire alarm sounding at #155 Beardsley Road. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. Two engines and one ladder truck responded.
On 12/10/16 at 7:17 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a residential fire alarm sounding at #290 Howe Avenue. There was no fire. O11/16 at 10:18 am one engine and one ladder truck responded.
On 12/11/16 at 6:19 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a motor vehicle accident on route 8 north bound in the area of exit 13. One engine and one rescue truck responded.
On 12/11/16 at 10:18 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a residential fire alarm sounding at #11 Willard Road. There was no fire. One engine responded.
On 12/11/16 at 4:59 pm the Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a brush fire in the rear of @124 Thoreau Drive. Two engines responded.
On 12/11/16 at 5:42 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to an odor of smoke gas in the area of #25 Park Avenue. One engine responded.
On 12/11/16 at 8:10 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a #22 Barry Road for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. One engine responded.
On 12/11/16 at 10:23 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on East Village Road at Lagana Lane. One engine responded.
On 12/11/16 at 10:23 pm the Huntington Co. #3, the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to an odor of gas at #1203 Avalon Drive. Two engines responded.
