
SHELTON — A recent list of Shelton Fire Department calls for service, as compiled by Shelton Fire Marshal James Tortora:
On 6/17/24 at 8:47 am the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a fire alarm activated at #108 Thoreau Drive. There was no fire.
On 6/17/24 at 12:46 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to #76 Katherine Court for a carbon monoxide alarm activation.
On 6/17/24 at 5:22 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to the Brightview Shelton at #30 Beard Saw Mill Road for an activated fire alarm. There was no fire.
On 6/18/24 at 8:35 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to smoke in the house at #253 Coram Road. The smoke was caused by cooking.
On 6/18/24 at 1:21 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Leavenworth Road at Nichol dale Road.
On 6/18/24 at 5:19 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on route 8 southbound between exits 13 and 12.
On 6/18/24 at 5:26 pm the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to the Avalon at #100 Avalon Drive for an odor investigation.
On 6/19/24 at :23 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1, Pine Rock Park Co. #4 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a structure fire at #39 Woodland Park. Upon arrival firefighters found a mobile type home involved in fire. An occupant was safely out of the home. The fire was brought under control in about twenty minutes. The homeowner discovered the fire when she was awakened when a smoke detector activated. The fire caused extensive damage to the home and made it unlivable. The fire occurred when an electrical malfunction occurred under the home and ignited other components.
On 6/19/24 at 10:01 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to an odor of natural gas outside #405 Coram Road.
On 6/19/24 at 12:31 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a brush fire on route 8 northbound at exit 11.
On 6/19/24 at 1:15 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #103 Lane Street to assist EMS.
On 6/19/24 at 8:45 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to an odor investigation at #22 Orchard Street.
On 6/20/24 at 4:05 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Huntington Street near Trap Falls Road.
On 6/20/24 at 5:45 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to a postal truck on fire at Post Office Distribution Center at #4 Forest Parkway.
On 6/20/24 at 7:53 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to the city of Derby to stand-by.
On 6/20/24 at 8:05 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to a carbon monoxide alarm sounding at #60 Grove Street.
On 6/20/24 at 8:24 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to an odor investigation at #185 Canal Street.
On 6/21/24 at 5:22 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to an odor of natural gas investigation at #185 Canal Street.
On 6/21/24 at 12:21 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to fire alarm activated at Talalay Global #510 River Road. There was no fire.
On 6/22/24 at 6:38 pm Echo hose H & L Co. #1, Pine Rock Park Co. #4 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded toa report of a structure fire at #7 Bruce Drive. Upon arrival firefighters found a fire in a garage of a single-family here story house. All occupants were safely out of the home. Firefighters had to encounter numerous fireworks that were exploding from within the garage. It took firefighters about an hour to declare the fire under control. There were no injuries. Due to the number of fireworks that remained in the garage fire personnel have remained on the scene until the fireworks can be disposed of safely. The Shelton Fire Marshal’s Office and the Shelton Police Department are investigating the fire and are being assisted by the Connecticut State Police Fire & Explosive Unit and the Connecticut State Police Bomb Squad.
On 6/22/24 at 6:46 pm the Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to an activated fire alarm at #10 Nature Lane. There was no fire.
On 6/22/24 at 7:09 pm the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to Long Hill Avenue and Platt Road for a tree on power lines.
On 6/22/24 at 7:21 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #24 Old Orchard Road for a house stuck by lightning. The strike caused minor damage.
On 6/22/24 at 19:28 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #24 Old Orchard Road for a house stuck by lightning. The strike caused minor damage. The occupant of the home was injured.
On 6/22/24 at 7:31 pm White Hills Co. #5 responded to Saw Mill City Road for an electrical hazard outside.
On 6/22/24 at 7:39 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to the Super Sandwich #2702 Bridgeport Avenue for an activated fire alarm. There was no fire.
On 6/22/24 at 11:04 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a fire alarm activated at #223 Canal Street. There was no fire.
On 6/23/24 at 1:17 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Coram Avenue near Elm Street.

On 6/23/24 at 11:34 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to car fire as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Commerce Drive near Huntington Street.
On 6/24/24 at 2:28 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to the Shelton Community Center #41 Church Street for an activated fire alarm. There was no fire.
On 6/24/24 at 2:57 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded to fire alarm activated at the Market Place Plaza at #389 Bridgeport Avenue. There was no fire.
On 6/24/24 at 3:38 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded to the Shelton Community Center #41 Church Street for an activated fire alarm. There was no fire.
