Shelton Fire Department Weekly Calls

Shelton Fire Marshal James Tortora submitted the following summary of the Shelton Volunteer Fire Department’s calls from last week.

On 05/22/17 at 7:43 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a report of a an odor of gas at #4 Huntington Avenue. One engine and one ladder truck responded.
 
On 05/22/17 at 5:58 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Nells Rock Road. One engine and one rescue truck responded.
 
On 05/23/17 at 10:45 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #175 South Constitution Boulevard. There was no fire. One engine and one ladder truck responded.
 
On 05/24/17 at 6:41 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a lawn tractor on fire at #177 Ripton Road. The fire was extinguished shortly after arrival. Two engines responded.
 
On 05/25/17 at 12:01 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a natural gas leak in an apartment at #354 Coram Avenue. The leak was due to a malfunction with the kitchen stove. The gas was shut off by firefighters. One engine responded.
 
On 05/25/17 at 12:37 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a report of wires down in the road on Soundview Avenue. One engine responded.
 
On 05/26/17 at 10:50 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at the Market Place Plaza #389 Bridgeport Avenue. There was no fire. A faulty detector caused the alarm. One engine responded.
 
On 05/26/17 at 12:48 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #466 Bridgeport Avenue. There was no fire. One ladder truck and one tower truck responded.
