Shelton Fire Department Weekly Calls For Service

SHELTON — SHELTON VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT WEEKLY RESPONSES

On 04/12/21 at 9:30 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded with an engine to an activated fire alarm at #475 Howe Avenue. There was no fire. Duct from construction caused the alarm.

On 04/11/21 at 1:15 pm the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded with an engine and a ladder truck to smoke in the area of #152 Long Hill Cross Road. Firefighters found the smoke was caused by an open burn.

On 04/12/21 at 1:45 pm the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded with a ladder truck to #23 Stowe Drive for an activated carbon monoxide alarm.

On 04/12/21 at 2:20 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded with an engine to #9 Summit Ridge Road for an activated fire alarm. There was no fire. Steam from a shower caused the alarm.

On 04/12/21 at 3:40 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to a motor vehicle accident on South Constitution Boulevard and Waterview Drive.

On 04/12/21 at 6:19 pm the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded with two engines to a brush fire on River Road near Quail Court.

On 04/13/21 at 1:28 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded with a ladder truck to an activated fire alarm at #25 South Constitution Boulevard. There was no fire. 

On 04/13/21 at 5:33 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded with a rescue truck and a ladder truck to an odor of natural gas at #474 Howe Avenue.

On 04/14/21 at 00:51 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to a motor vehicle accident on Shelton Avenue at Mary Street.

On 04/14/21 at 9:45 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded with an engine to a small fuel spill at #71 Roberts Street.

On 04/14/21 at 10:21 am the Pine Rock Park Co. #4, Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activated at #59 Keron Drive. There was no fire. Steam from a shower caused the alarm.

On 04/14/21 at 5:06 pm the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to a fire alarm activated at the Bishop Wicke Health Care Center at #384 Long Hill Avenue. There was no fire. Steam from a shower caused the alarm.

On 04/15/21 at 4:03 pm the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded with an engine and a ladder truck to a fire alarm activation at The Renaissance at #100 Parrott Drive. There was no fire.

On 04/15/21 at 8:56 pm the Echo Hose Co. 31 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activation at the St. Joseph’s Educational Building at #50 Fairmont Place. There was no fire. Dust from construction caused the alarm.

On 04/16/21 at 02:39 am the Huntington Co. #3 responded with an engine to Maler Avenue for a power line on fire om top of a utility pole.

On 04/16/21 at 05:59 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 responded with a unit to an activated fire alarm at #2 Ivy Brook Road. There was no fire.

On 04/16/21 at 8:25 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1, Pine Rock Park Co. #4 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded with two engine and two ladder trucks to smoke in the building at Charter Arms #18 Brewster Lane. Upon arrival firefighters found the building with a slight smoke condition. Further investigation found a piece of insulation was smoldering on top of a waste collection machine. The fire was extinguished in a few minutes.

On 04/16/21 at 11:49 am the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded with an engine to the Shelton High School at #120 Meadow Street for fire alarm activation. There was no fire. The alarm was caused when a sprinkler head in the ceiling was struck by a baseball. 

On 04/16/21 at 2:02 pm the White Hills Co. #5 responded with an engine to #62 Sinsabaugh Heights for a public service call. 

On 04/17/21 at 00:19 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to a motor vehicle accident on route 8 north bound at exit 13.

On 04/17/21 at 10:41 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. 31 responded with a recue truck to a public service, pump-out, call at #110 River Road. 

On 04/18/21 at 6:15 am the Echo Hose H & L co. #1 responded with a unit to assist EMS at #135 Oak Avenue.

On 04/18/21 at 1:24 pm the Pine Rock Park Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to a motor vehicle accident in the area of #762 River Road.

On 04/18/21 at 7:16 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activation at #30 Philip Drive. There was no fire.

On 04/18/21 at 7:30 pm the White Hills Co. #5 responded with an engine to a motor vehicle accident on Leavenworth Road Route 110 at Hubbell Lane.

On 04/18/21 at 7:39 pm the Echo Hose H & L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to a gas alarm activation at #500 Howe Avenue. No issue was reported.
