Shelton Fundraiser For Scholarship Named In Honor Of Sandy Hook Victim

The Shelton High School Class of 1981 invites members of the community to attend a special event in memory of Jesse Lewis, son of their classmate Neil Heslin. Jesse was one of the 20 Sandy Hook Elementary School children and six educators who tragically lost their lives on December 14, 2012.

The event will be held at Danny O’s on River Road in Shelton, on Sunday, June 30, Jesse’s seventh birthday.

Funds raised from the event will be used to establish the Jesse Lewis Memorial Scholarship to be awarded annually to a graduating senior at Shelton High School.

The June 30 event will run from 1 to 5 p.m. and will include a buffet provided by Danny O’s, live entertainment and prizes.

Donated prizes include golf resort vacations (Palm Coast, FL; Vail, CO), sports memorabilia (including autographed NY Jets football and Orlando Magic basketball; autographed items from Eli Manning, Dick Vitale, Monica Seles and others; Mets tickets; Red Sox and NY Giants merchandise and other items), Comcast Theater concert tickets(Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Toby Keith), an autographed Alan Jackson guitar, themed baskets, as well as gift certificates to local businesses and area attractions.

Tickets may be purchased at the door on the day of the event for $25. You may also purchase tickets in advance or make a donation if unable to attend by sending a check payable to Valley United Way, 8 Huntington Street, P.O. Box 142, Shelton, CT 06484 with Jesse Lewis Scholarship Fund in the memo section. All proceeds will go directly to the fund.
