Firefighters responded to an overheated transformer in the boiler room of Shelton High School Thursday afternoon, which resulted in a brief evacuation of the building.
The call came in around 1:45 p.m., but there were no flames and only a little smoke, said Assistant Fire Chief Paul Wilson. There were no injuries.
Students were back in the school in about 20 minutes..
As per protocol, a Derby ladder truck was called to the scene in addition to the Shelton firefighters.
“Due to the nature of the call, and the history there, we called in a Derby ladder truck for assistance,” Wilson said.
